I’ll admit it, the Bruins looked good against Ottawa tonight. The Bruins welcomed the last place Senators to the Garden and blew the doors off of the place, scoring six goals in the process. Patrice Bergeron got his first career hat trick tonight and Tim Thomas recorded his sixth shutout of the year to lead the NHL.
It’s amazing to see what this team can do when they play a full hockey game. I would caution everyone though to not plan the parade route yet as the Senators aren’t exactly a top tier NHL team. Need some perspective on it? They’re tied in points with Toronto for worst in the East.
In fact, we (the fans) should expect this type of game when Boston plays a shitty team at home. Sure they haven’t played like this for a few games, but we’ve seen them come out and destroy mediocre teams at home.
Regardless of who the team is, it is good to see the Bruins play a full 60 minute game and get rewarded from it. They played their usual uptempo style of hockey and was able to control the tempo and the flow of the game. I’m not going to over analyze this game because that isn’t what we do here. There will be tons of blogs recapping the game, but I wanted to talk about it a little.
Also, I expect most of you to roast me tomorrow after my Days of Y’Orr rant, but I don’t care.
