Gameday Brew #7 – Boston at Carolina

Oh man has it been a good week to be a Bruins fan. After pooping their pants in Montreal, Boston has ripped off a 4-1 record over their last five games and are currently sitting on top of the Northeast Division and third in the Eastern Conference. After last night’s 7-0 win, I’m ready to put Boston in the “elite” status of the Eastern Conference. They’ve beat Philly (first in the East), they’ve beat Pittsburgh (4th in the East) and they have romped the shitty teams that should beat (Carolina 7-0 and Ottawa 6-0). It seems that they are clicking and getting contributions from everyone on the team. It’s a good thing to see.

So tonight the boys are in Hartford Jr. playing the Hurriwhales in a game that should be another ass whooping. I’m sure that the Hurricanes will come out looking for some kind of vengeance after getting embarrassed in Boston. It would not surprise me to see Carolina pull out some dirty shit to get their point across.

I would bet that Tuukka Rask is in net tonight due to it being the second game of a home-and-home series, but Julien has proved me wrong before. At this point, it doesn’t matter which goalie is manning the pipes because both has been playing well as of late.

The only thing I get worried about is the defense. It has been shaky this past week and was really exposed against Philadelphia. Hopefully it is due to injury and the young guys still getting their feet wet. Either way, Chara looked really bad against Philly and Pittsburgh.

So my gameday brew today is relevant to this game. It’s called “The Carolina”. I’ve never had this, but I figured it is time to venture out of beer and in to some other things. I know, we all over beer, but sometimes we need to tickle the palate with something different. With that said, this is “The Carolina”.

I literally Googled “Carolina drink” and this is what I came up with:

White tequila is most commonly used for mixing cocktails, but some require the mellower flavor of the amber-colored, aged tequilas, which are known as golden tequila or anejo.

INGREDIENT:

5-6 cracked ice cubes
3 measures golden tequila
1 tsp Grenadine
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 measure single cream
1 egg white
Ground cinnamon,
Cocktail cherry, to decorate

METHOD:

1. Put the cracked ice cubes into a cocktail shaker.
2. Pour the tequila, Grenadine, vanilla and cream over the ice and add the egg white. Shake vigorously until a frost forms.
3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Sprinkle with cinnamon and decorate with a cocktail cherry.

So take that for what it is worth. Sounds like something that’ll fuck you up, especially with the tequila. So enjoy it and go Bruins!
